Mona Vale’s Andy Hugill and New South Wales Golf Club’s Gemma Dooley have capped off exceptional seasons to be crowned the 2025 Senior Order of Merit champions, each emerging from highly competitive campaigns to secure their respective titles.

Hugill’s season featured victories at the Bowral Jubilee Seniors and Camden Seniors, but it was his remarkable consistency across the year that proved decisive. Runner-up finishes at Duntryleague, Lynwood, and Blackheath, along with a fourth place at the NSW Senior Amateur, cemented the points he needed to lift the SOOM trophy for the first time.

“I’ve been very close in the past few years with second and third-place finishes,” Hugill said.

“It’s nice to finally top the Order of Merit. Great competition with a great bunch of top blokes.”

David Fahey made a late charge, winning the Cromer Seniors season finale to jump into second place overall, falling just 25.24 points short of Hugill in an agonisingly tight finish.

Fresh off being crowned Leading Amateur at the NSW Senior Open at Thurgoona, Forster Tuncurry’s Rod Moran secured third place overall. Moran also notched wins at the Blackheath Seniors and Killara Seniors in another impressive season.

In the Nett Division, Highlands GC’s Darren Payne claimed back-to-back titles after an extraordinary year that saw him contest 45 events across the state.

“I’m excited and looking forward to next year,” Payne said.

The Over 65s title was dominated by Monash Country Club’s Doug Cullam, who secured the Gross crown by a remarkable margin of more than 700 points. Cullam recorded 14 top finishes in the division, sealing a comfortable and well-deserved victory.

On the women’s side, New South Wales Golf Club’s Gemma Dooley secured a rare and remarkable double, clinching both the NSW Women’s Senior Order of Merit (WSOOM) and Golf Australia’s National Senior Order of Merit for a second consecutive year.

Dooley’s season included four victories at the ACT Senior Championship, Killara Seniors, NSW Senior Foursomes, and Belmont Seniors, along with a runner-up finish at The Australian Medal and third place at the NSW Senior Amateur.

Wyong’s Louise Mullard claimed the runner-up position for the second straight year and will no doubt be looking to go one better in 2026. Jacqui Morgan of Monash rounded out the top three, boosted by her victory at the Cromer Seniors.

In the Nett Division, Coffs Harbour’s Greer Galloway secured the Overall Nett title, highlighted by her win at the Belmont Seniors, a runner-up finish at the NHDLGA Seniors, and two third places at the Seaside Classic Seniors and The Australian Seniors.
