Regional Managers

Golf NSW in partnership with Jack Newton Junior Golf (JNJG) has employed nine Regional Managers across the State to provide additional on-the-ground support to affiliated Clubs and Districts.

Seven Regional Managers are based in regional locations across the State, with two in Metropolitan Sydney.

Their key areas of focus include Junior Development, Participation Programs and Club Support initiatives of Golf NSW and JNJG.

Core Responsibilities

Junior Development 

  • Develop and/or deliver MyGolf programs 
  • Liaise with schools to coordinate and deliver introductory programs & school teacher training
  • Deliver participation programs at local golf clubs
  • Increase the promotion and uptake of the Community Instructor Program 
  • Assist Clubs in building junior golf programs 
  • Coordinate camps, clinics, and talent ID development squads in coordination with Regional Academies of Sport 
  • Develop and co-ordinate ‘Juniors on the Move’ programs, local and state Encourage Shield and Junior Pennant competitions 
  • Implement junior initiatives in line with the Golf NSW Strategic Plan

Participation & Club Support

  • Co-ordinate adult beginner programs, including ‘Get into Golf Seniors/Women’, all abilities, and indigenous programs  
  • Promote Golf NSW participation (Keno Let’s Play Ambrose), and State events 
  • Identify the need for Golf NSW Club Support resources – operations, agronomy, government relations, marketing and strategic planning 
  • Identify Club projects and opportunities for funding via the NSW Golf Foundation 
  • Assist Clubs with course rating, handicap and competition-related matters 
  • Develop local council and State government relationships and identify funding opportunities 

District Association Support

  • Assist with DGA activities and event management
  • Identify opportunities for Districts to invest in participation initiatives
