Yowani Country Club is a challenging 6330 metre 18-hole golf course just minutes from the Canberra CBD.
Designed by James Heard Scott in 1954, Yowani has developed into a fantastic complex after 50 years of careful development.
One of Australia’s finest inland layouts, Yowani meanders around a couple of lakes, and features gentle undulating, tree-lined fairways.
The greens, which blend well into the course surrounds, are always well kept and receptive to a well struck shot.
While most of the holes are reasonably straight, there are a couple of testing doglegs at Yowani Country Club, including the demanding par- four 2nd, which turns at almost 90 degrees.
The club’s renowned lakes also come into play late in the round, and are a key feature on the 16th and 17th holes in particular.
All in all, Yowani is an excellent test of golf for players of all abilities.
