Yowani Country Club is a challenging 6330 metre 18-hole golf course just minutes from the Canberra CBD.
Designed by James Heard Scott in 1954, Yowani has developed into a fantastic complex after 50 years of careful development.
One of Australia’s finest inland layouts, Yowani meanders around a couple of lakes, and features gentle undulating, tree-lined fairways.
The greens, which blend well into the course surrounds, are always well kept and receptive to a well struck shot.
While most of the holes are reasonably straight, there are a couple of testing doglegs at Yowani Country Club, including the demanding par- four 2nd, which turns at almost 90 degrees.
The club’s renowned lakes also come into play late in the round, and are a key feature on the 16th and 17th holes in particular.
All in all, Yowani is an excellent test of golf for players of all abilities.
Visitors are welcome to play in competitions at Yowani Country Club, however a current GA handicap is essential.
Social golfers are also welcome seven days a week. Bookings are essential however, so contact the Pro Shop on (02) 6228 9739.
