Longyard Golf Club is an18-hole public access golf course and features Tamworth’s only driving range. The Greg Norman and Bob Harrison designed course is a real country gem. According to iseekgolf.com.au it is rapidly gaining a reputation as an exceptional test of golf. It was home of the 2002 NSW Masters.
The golf course is just a few minutes from the heart of town just off the New England Highway (Goonoo goonoo Road). Irrigated, undulating fairways and superb greens make the perfect course all year round. Golf carts and equipment are available for hire.
Thorny’s Putt-Putt features 2 x 18 hole courses; the “Dragon” course for beginners and the “Devil” course for those who like a challenge. Thorny’s is designed so each course can be played multiple ways – there are even mini “roughs” and “bunkers” like a real golf course, plus obstacles like the odd jump or bridge. If you can hold a club you can play putt-putt.
