Bardwell Valley Golf Club is one of Sydney’s friendliest golf clubs and a challenging par 62 course.
Located 12km south of the Sydney CBD, and within 6km of the domestic airport, it is affectionately known as “The Valley.”
Maintained by volunteers, Bardwell Valley has a rough edge or two, but when it comes to value for money, a round at The Valley is impossible to beat.
Lush vegetation and tree-lined fairways provide a picturesque bushland backdrop and there are plenty of holes which will really test a golfer out.
With greens on the smaller side, the local advise is to bring your best short game as well.
The pick of the course is without a doubt the 12th and 16th holes.
The 12th, a long downhill par three with a green sloping hard to the right, requires an almost pinpoint shot from the tee. Make par and you are doing well.
The 16th, a dogleg par 4, is a hole where the bigger hitters can take a driver. Be wary though, there’s often no advantage as the landing zone is very tight.
