The Terms of Competition – NSW Sand greens Fourball are to be read in conjunction with the Golf Australia Rules for Sand Greens, Golf NSW Standard Terms of Competition, the Golf NSW Code of Conduct and the Golf NSW Hard Card.  Should a conflict occur between terms, then the terms outlined on the entry form take precedence.

1. Championship Procedure

1.1 The Championship will be played as follows:
NSW Sand Greens Fourball Championship – 36 holes of fourball stableford.
There will be AM and PM shotgun starts each day (this format is dependent upon numbers).

1.2 The winning pair (scratch) will be the NSW Men’s Sand Greens Fourball Champions and will receive the Championship Medal and have their names engraved on the Championship Cup. 

1.3 Ties shall be decided by the Golf Australia Method of Countback, with the exception of the Championship which will be decided by sudden death play-off over holes determined by the Championship Committee, should time permit otherwise joint winners will be declared.

2. Championship Committee

2.1 The Championship Committee will comprise the Chair of the Golf NSW Golf Committee, Golf NSW Events Manager or their appointees.

2.2 In the absence of a full Championship Committee, such members that may be present at the time may give a decision, and any decision so given will be deemed to be a decision of the full Championship Committee.

2.3 The decision of the Championship Committee as to acceptance or refusal of any entry will be final.

3. Rules of Play

The Rules of Golf, as adopted by R&A Rules Limited, will apply, together with Golf NSW Hard Card, and any additional Local Rules as drawn up by the Championship Committee.

4. Entries

4.1        GA Handicap: Eligible players are male amateurs whose GA Handicap (or overseas equivalent) does not exceed 36.4 strokes at the time of entry.

4.2        Age: There is no age restriction for this event.

4.3        Entry Fee: The entry fee applicable for this event is $100 per pair online.

4.4        Ballot: In the event of entry applications exceeding the number of places available in the Championship, the method of balloting players out of the field will be determined at the close of entries.  Unsuccessful applicants will be informed without delay and given the opportunity to compete if withdrawals subsequently occur.  Monies received from balloted entrants, who do not subsequently compete, will be refunded in their entirety.

4.5        Membership/Handicap Suspension: Any player who has his golf playing membership or handicap at the date of the Contest suspended by Golf Australia, Golf NSW, any Club who is a member of Golf NSW / Golf Australia, or a District Golf Association, is not eligible to participate

4.6        Exemptions: There are no exemptions for this Championship.

5. Motorised Transport

For entrants requiring use of motorised transport for medical reasons, cart use can be secured by providing Golf NSW with a medical certificate or letter from their club and booking a cart through the pro shop. Once entries have closed (approximately 2 weeks prior to the event), all other entrants are welcome to book any remaining carts through the pro shop. Golf NSW takes no responsibility for the availability of golf carts and all bookings must be made through the pro shop.

6. Practice

Practice rounds prior to the Championship are at the discretion of the host club. 

7. Registration

Competitors must register 30 mins before their starting time on each day of play.

8. Pace of Play

Pace of Play will be strictly enforced. See the Golf NSW Hard Card for Pace of Play terms.

Players are required to pick up if they cannot better their partners score.

9. Prizes

Players may only win one prize. If a player wins more than one prize, the prize of the highest value will be awarded to the player. If the prizes are of equal value, the scratch prize will take precedent over the nett prize.

10. Golf NSW Hard Card

The Golf NSW Hard Card will be in effect throughout this event.
