3. Points Allocation
3.1. The GNSW Senior Order of Merit will recognise performances for both stroke and stableford scoring.
3.2. Points are awarded for each event based upon the finishing position of each individual in the field of seniors golfers aged 55 years of age or above, regardless of whether those players are registered SOOM players or not.
3.3. A player’s final GNSW Senior Order of Merit points total will comprise all points accrued from his best fourteen (14) performances in designated events during that calendar year. Once a player plays more than fourteendesignated events, his worst performance (e.g. lowest points total from a designated event) drops off for each additional event he plays.
3.4. Players finishing tied for a position in an event all receive the points for that position. Except if there is a play off for first then the play-off winner receives 1st place points and the others in the play-off receive 2nd place points.
3.5. It is the Players responsibility to check the points table on the GNSW web site and advise GNSW if he feels there is a discrepancy.
3.6. The player that accrues the highest total of points for scratch performances in designated events over the calendar year will win the NSW Senior Order of Merit Trophy and shall also receive an individual medal. The player that accrues the highest total of points for nett performances in designated events over the calendar year will win the NSW Senior Order of Merit Nett Trophy and shall also receive an individual medal.
3.7. The player that accrues the highest total of points for the over 65 performances in designated events over the calendar year will win the GNSW over 65 Senior Order of Merit and shall also receive an individual medal.
