Database of Entrant’s Details
The personal data contained in an entry is permanently retained by Golf NSW. This data may be utilised by Golf NSW or its sponsors for the distribution of correspondence, in both electronic and hard copy means. From time to time players may be sent entry forms, event literature, the Golf NSW e-newsletter, or marketing material by the sponsor(s) of Golf NSW events, or information about events conducted by Golf NSW-approved bodies. Upon receipt by Golf NSW of a written request, a player may either have access to their details, or have their details deleted from the database.
1.4 If a scheduled event is not run on the specified date then the event can be cancelled. An alternate date will only be approved on application to GNSW Golf Committee.
1.5 Any club desiring to stage a Senior Golf Event as part of the GNSW Senior Order of Merit must initially submit a formal approach to the GNSW Golf Committee for approval. Depending on scheduling this may or may not be accepted.
2.1 The GNSW Senior Order of Merit competition is open to male amateurs who are members of clubs affiliated with GNSW, or golf clubs registered with such State or Overseas Associations as are affiliated with or recognised by GNSW.
2.2 To accrue points in a GNSW Senior Order of Merit event, a player must have reached their 55th birthday by the first scheduled day of that event, and must hold a Golf Australia Handicap of 36.4 or less. Eligible players will additionally conform in all respects to the Rules of Amateur Status as approved by R&A Rules Limited.
2.3 To accrue points in a GNSW Senior Order of Merit event for the Over 65 Section of the GNSW Senior Order of Merit, the player must have reached their 65th birthday by the first scheduled day of that event.
3. Points Allocation
3.1. The GNSW Senior Order of Merit will recognise performances for both stroke and stableford scoring.
3.2. Points are awarded for each event based upon the finishing position of each individual in the field of seniors golfers aged 55 years of age or above, regardless of whether those players are registered SOOM players or not.
3.3. A player’s final GNSW Senior Order of Merit points total will comprise all points accrued from his best fourteen (14) performances in designated events during that calendar year. Once a player plays more than fourteendesignated events, his worst performance (e.g. lowest points total from a designated event) drops off for each additional event he plays.
3.4. Players finishing tied for a position in an event all receive the points for that position. Except if there is a play off for first then the play-off winner receives 1st place points and the others in the play-off receive 2nd place points.
3.5. It is the Players responsibility to check the points table on the GNSW web site and advise GNSW if he feels there is a discrepancy.
3.6. The player that accrues the highest total of points for scratch performances in designated events over the calendar year will win the NSW Senior Order of Merit Trophy and shall also receive an individual medal. The player that accrues the highest total of points for nett performances in designated events over the calendar year will win the NSW Senior Order of Merit Nett Trophy and shall also receive an individual medal.
3.7. The player that accrues the highest total of points for the over 65 performances in designated events over the calendar year will win the GNSW over 65 Senior Order of Merit and shall also receive an individual medal.
