Golf NSW has taken the unfortunate step of postponing the 2021 Major Pennant Finals due to be played at Terrey Hills Golf and Country Club tomorrow, Sunday 21 March, 2021.
Following an inspection of the Terrey Hills layout, the course superintendent has declared the course closed. In addition, with almost 200mm of rain predicted over the next 24 hours, there was zero chance it could be prepared in time for tomorrow’s competition.
In addition, with emergency services warning people to avoid non-essential travel on Sydney’s roads, Golf NSW believes the risks associated with transport to and from the venue outweigh any benefits associated with finishing the pennant season this weekend.
A decision on a rescheduled date for the finals will be made in due course, and all competing clubs will be informed.
Golf NSW is also considering options to ensure pre-qualifying will be completed as quickly as possible prior to the commencement of the Golf Challenge NSW Open.
