The first on-course group get-together in over three months proved to be a battle of attrition for the Golf NSW HP squad at Bondi today.
With COVID-19 restrictions easing enough to allow outdoor fitness sessions, Bondi Golf Club provided a spectacular backdrop, and the less than ideal conditions, to add some bite to the day.
The challenge was, of course, to see if the course record at the clifftop course could be bettered by one of the 11 athletes on hand.
With the rain belting in, and the course all but deserted except for a couple of club stalwarts looking on, the Bondi challenge was a tough one for the nine men and two women.

By the end of the afternoon, and with the weather adding enough bite, it was the course which looked like it won on the day. Best of the men was squad newcomer Harry Bolton, (One over par), while Grace Kim pipped her teammate Doey Choi by a shot, finishing at six over.
Golf NSW High-Performance Manager Khan Pullen said regardless of the downpour he was pleased with the application displayed by the squad.
“The conditions today were trying to say the least, but the overall effort of the athletes in what was their first get-together and hit out, especially after being in isolation sinch mid-march, was very pleasing indeed.”
