Ken Brewer of Concord Golf Club has wrapped up the 2018 NSW Senior Order of Merit with another victory at Cromer Golf Club today. It was his ninth win for the season in what was another dominant year, eventually winning by 490 points.
“It’s great to win the NSW Senior Order of Merit for the third straight year.
“People ask me why I play these events; I tell them because they are fun,” Ken said.
Brewer started off the season with a win at NSW Senior Foursomes and a runner up at the NSW Senior Amateur Championship played at the Island Golf Club, Nambucca Heads. With consistent top five finishes in his next few events, Brewer captured his second win at Penrith with a brilliant 67.

The second half of the season is where Brewer stamped his authority on the 2018 title by winning an outstanding seven times including the Catalina, Magenta Shores, Wyong, Liverpool, Dunheved, Twin Creeks and finally the Cromer Seniors titles.
In his first year as a senior, Matthew Taylor from Stonecutters Ridge finished runner up, while Long Reef’s Geoff Cranfield had another consistent year in third place.
Brewer made it a double by winning the NSW SOOM Nett trophy, while Greg Stanford of Mona Vale GC won his second straight NSW SOOM Over 65’s Trophy.
