Gadd off to Twin Creeks after a thriller

There was lots of drama at the Vintage on Sunday as Josh Gadd secured his place in the AVJennings NSW Open.

Gadd had to get there the hard way though, in a playoff after finishing at even-par (71) alongside Hunter Valley local Brent Watson.

It took two extra trips up the 18th Hole to decide the outcome, with Gadd prevailing with his second Par in as many attempts.

It will be Gadd’s fourth trip to the NSW Open and one he is looking forward to.

“I absolutely can’t wait back at my home course again.

“I have great family support out there. The family always come out to watch.

“I’m western Sydney grown, so they all come out.”

Gadd has a solid record around the Twin Creeks layout. At the 2017 Open, won by Jason Scrivener, Gadd was a surprise packet, being in the mix after two rounds.

“I was running second or third at 11 under for two rounds.

“I have had some success there, the course suits my game really well.”
