Crunch time coming for Arnold and Davis

Crunch time is coming for Jamie Arnold and Cameron Davis.

The immediate golfing futures of Jamie Arnold and Cameron Davis are on the line this week as the Korn Ferry Tour’s Finals conclude.

Arnold, from Cronulla, is currently 18th on the finals points list and just inside the magical top 25, while Davis is in 34th place with just this week’s Tour Championship to go.

After a strong result in week one of the finals, an 11th place finish at the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship, Arnold nicely placed. An unfortunate missed cut at last week’s Boise Open saw him tumble eight places, but he remains inside the top 25.

With the points doubled for the final event, a finish in the top half of the leaderboard come Sunday will all but guarantee the 36-year-old his first trip to the PGA tour after nine years as a professional.

For Davis, however, the equation is much harder.

Cameron Davis will need a good finish at the Korn Ferry Your Championship this week.

Currently in 34th position, Davis is outside the bubble but still within reach of earning a return to the PGA tour.

The 2017 Australian Open Champion battled away on the main tour with little success for much of the year, eventually finishing 167th on the money list.

The result forced the 2019 tour rookie back to the cut-throat secondary tour finals.

Davis finished in a tie for 58th in week one of the finals but improved in week two with a 25th place finish at last week’s Boise Open in Idaho.

He will need something like a top 10 finish this week, however, to vault into the coveted top 25 to collect his card for 2020.

The Korn Ferry Tour Championship begins on Saturday (Australian time) and will be televised LIVE on FoxSports CH 503 with the round one and two telecasts starting at 3.00am EST.
