Concord’s Blake Phillips has birdied the third playoff hole to clinch victory and send Concord GC (BLUE) into next week’s Eric Apperly Shield Final.
The two teams couldn’t be separated at the end of regulation play, forcing the number one match into sudden death. The playoff was a nail-biter, with the pair matching birdies on the first followed by pars on the second. Phillips prevailed, however with a clutch birdie from just over 20 feet on the third to ensure the inner-western Sydney’s team’s place in next week’s final.
Earlier, with the contest too close to call for much of the day, it was the Lakes’ Shanshank Koirala who birdied the final two holes of against Grace Lee to square the contest.
Concord will now face The Australian in next week’s final at Lakeside Golf Club, Camden, next week.
FINAL – Sunday 4th September @ Lakeside GC Camden.
