Steve Toyne now hs a comfortable le four shot lead with just three to play after disaster struck overnight leader Warren Gorton.
The Hawks Nest Golfer has fell afoul of the tricky par three 15th, walking away with a triple bogey to all but gift Queenslander Toyne the Amateur Crown.
Monash Country Club’s Jacqui Morgan still has a sizeable lead in the women’s, six shots in front of Ryde Parramatta’s Jane Wall.

4.00pm: Tied at the top in the final round
Steve Toyne and Warren Gorton are tied at the top late in the final round d of the NSW Senior Amateur here at Shoalhaven Heads.

Toyne grabbed a vital birdie on the par-five 13th and followed it up with a two putt birdie on the very next hole to square the ledger.

3.00pm: Toyne Closing in on Gorton
Steve Toyne is the player of the moment, turning for home in even par and clearly has the overnight leader, Warren Gorton, in his sights.
The Queenslander had whittled the lead back to just a shot when Gorton bogeyed the 8th, however a bounce back birdie has again nudged the lead out to two.
Toyne, however, appeared unphased, and remains in striking distance as the players move to the back nine.
Monash Country CLub’s Jacqui Morgan looks all but uncatchable now, and after ten holes, still has an eight shot lead.

1.50pm: Morgan unmoved, Gorton by two
Jacqui Morgan has extended her lead to nine shots early in the final round of the Women’s NSW Senior Amateur.
The Monash Country Club representative made her intentions clear on the opening hole, driving the green then two putting for birdie form about 12 feet. Morgan had actually got stretched the lead to an impressive ten shots, however an ill timed bogey in the 13th (her fourth) has brought her back.
Jane Wall is Morgan’s closest challenger. The Ryde-Parramatta representative made a shaky start, however, with a pair of bogeys on the 11th and 12, (her 2nd and 3rd holes). She has regrouped though with a birdie on the 14th hole ( her 5th).
Warren Gorton still holds the men’s lead, however the margin was back to two shots. After bogeys on the first and fourth, the Hawks Nest representative has clawed one back with a birdie on the 5th.
Indooroopilly’s Steve Toyne is still Gorton’s nearest challenger, while Liverpoool’s Gary Well’s remains five back.

11.20 am: Final Round Underway
The final round of the NSW Senior Amateur Championship is underway at Shoalhaven Heads Golf Club.
The leading groups of Gary Wells, Steve Toyne and current leader in the men’s, Warren Gorton will tee off in just under an hour at from the first tee at 12.30 pm, while Louise Mullard, Jane Wall and women’s leader Jacqui Morgan will begin their round from the 10th at the same time.
The Morning flight are completing their rounds, and a couple of impressive scores have already been returned. Royal Canberra’s Ross Rees has carded a tidy 74, which included only 26 putts – and a shank on the 17th – to finish +19, while Lynwood’s Stephen King carded a two over 73 to complete his tournament at +20.
