Steph Swoops Home in Saudi

Stephanie Kyriacou of Australia during the final round

St Michael’s Steph Kyriacou has swooped home to finish in a tie for fourth place at the Saudi Women’s International.

Kyriacou carded rounds of 68 and 69 over the weekend to finish at seven under par, three shots behind the winner, Emily Kristine Pederson.

The handy cheque for EU 34,335 has also seen her vault into fourth place on the Ladies European Tour’s Race to Costa Del Sol. The result has also seen her open up a handy 66.78 lead over England’s Alice Hewson in the battle for Rookie of the Year Honours.

The Saudi result was Kyriacou’s fifth top-10 finish in a breakout season which began with victory at the Geoff King Motors – Australian Ladies Classic back in February.

Kyriacou is entered in this week’s Saudi Ladies Teams International which begins tomorrow at the Royal Greens complex. She will be hoping for another stellar performance to put the Rookie title out of reach of Hewson, after deciding to withdraw from the final event of the year, the Andalucia Costa del Sol Open de Espana to return home.

Norwegian Pederson, who beat England’s Georgia Hall in a playoff on Sunday, leads the LET money list with just two events remaining in the 2020 LET season.
