Defending Champions NSW will meet neighbours and arch-rivals St. Michael’s while Cronulla will be looking for their first appearance in a Division one Major Pennant grand final in 15 years when they take on the talented Monash outfit in this weekend’s Sydney Major Pennant Semi-Finals.

The two battles will see some intriguing individual matches with freshly minted NSW State representative Harry Bolton likely to face up against Harrison Crowe, while Cronulla’s undefeated Matt Osborne will face up against State rep Nathan Barbieri.

Action in the Division one semi-finals will get underway at 10.12 am on Sunday at Twin Creeks with Cronulla, and Monash facing off before St. Michael’s & NSW go head-to-head at 11.08 am.

Riverside Oaks, Twin Creeks and North Ryde will battle it out for a place in the Division two final with the winner taking on either Penrith or Oatlands.

Division three will see Cabramatta take on Asquith, while Springwood, who only entered the Sydney Major Pennant competition three years ago will hope they can continue their march into the upper division of major Pennant when they take on Cumberland in the other semi.

Woolooware and Randwick will be out early on Sunday, looking to grab a place in next week’s Division four final. The teams will be first off on the Gangurru course at Riverside Oaks at 7.00 am. The other semi-final between Bardwell Valley and Strathfield will follow at 7.56 am.

Division five will see top seed Roseville take on Macarthur Grange while Beverly Park will take on Kareela. The Division five semi-finals will get proceedings underway at Twin Creeks from 7.00 am.

The Women’s Metropolitan Major Pennant will see some familiar faces battling it out for the right to take part in next week’s finals.

St. Michael’s and Concord will face off in a replay of last year’s women’s Division one final. With St. Michael’s Steph Kyriacou no longer eligible after turning professional following her stunning victory at the Geoff King Motors Australian Ladies Classic, all eyes will be on the likely matchup of State representatives Kelsey Bennett and Doey Choi for their respective clubs.

The last time the pair met in the quarter-finals of the NSW Women’s Amateur, it was Bennett who took home the marbles with a clutch one-up win.

In the other semi, The Australian will be looking to wrap up their final spot with a win over Bonnie Doon. The Kensington outfit sounded a warning last week with a 5-nil whitewash over NSW away from home so could be tough to beat.

Action in the Women’s semi-finals will get underway at Twin Creeks on Sunday at 8.52 am, with The Australian and Bonnie Doon hitting off at 9.32 am.

Division two of the Women’s will see Moore Park take on Pymble while Avondale will battle it out with Lynwood for the other final spot. Action in the Women’s Division two will start at 8.52 am on Sunday at Riverside Oaks.
