One hundred and seventy of Australia’s most talented junior golfers will descend on the New South Wales South Coast next week for the 2026 JNJG Age Championships, with competition split across Catalina Club and Moruya Golf Club.
The field, spanning 12 divisions across Boys and Girls aged 12 to 17, draws entrants from NSW, ACT, Queensland, Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania, and internationally, with representatives from New Zealand and China among those chasing age division glory.
Among the boys, NSW’s Zac Oyston, of The Australian GC, heads in as a member of the 2026 JNJG Elite Squad and the reigning Webex Players Series Sydney Junior champion. Liam Jordan, of Manly GC, pushed Oyston to a play-off at that event and will be looking to go one better, while 2026 Junior State Team member Blake Cranston, of The Australian GC, and Hamish Robb, of Cromer GC, the 2024 NSW Junior Champion of Champions, add further depth to the NSW contingent.
From the ACT, Royal Canberra GC sends a strong trio in Finn Whitelock, Amir Rezaie and Rhys Handford, with Whitelock and Rezaie both 2026 Junior Interstate representatives.
Victoria’s Elbert Kim and South Australia’s Malachy Marshall arrive with the same interstate credentials, while New Zealanders Jerry Zuming Tian and Yuhan “Uny” Shao cross the Tasman to complete the international picture.
On the girls’ side, Jia You, of Ryde Parramatta GC, arrives in the form after two wins already in 2026. Kiara Connolly-Jackson, of Avondale GC, is among the most decorated players in the field and a member of the 2026 JNJG Elite Squad, while fellow NSW Junior Interstate representatives Mimi Thomsen and Jordyn Deen add further firepower to the home contingent. Savannah Webb, of Stonecutters Ridge GC, and Brett Ogle, Junior Masters winner, is another NSW name to watch, while Queensland’s Michela Samuels, of Royal Queensland GC, leads the interstate challengers.
Competition runs Tuesday to Friday, with all players guaranteed four rounds across both venues. On Tuesday, the 15, 16 and 17 year boyswill play at Catalina, while the 12, 13 and 14 year boys and all girls divisions tee off at Moruya.
The groups swap courses for round two on Wednesday. From Thursday, players are seeded by their scratch score after 36 holes, with the top half moving to Catalina and the bottom half at Moruya for round three, before swapping again on Friday.
