Emerald Lakes Duo On Top In The Northern Rivers

Saskia Knevitt (Emerald Lakes) and Eshan Singh (Emerald Lakes) have claimed victory at the 2026 Northern Rivers Junior Masters in impressive fashion. Singh delivered a dominant final round to finish well clear of the field, while Knevitt held her nerve to secure a narrow one-shot win.

It was the perfect weekend for Eshan Singh. After recording a hole-in-one on day one, he carried that momentum into the final round. Starting one shot off the lead, Singh made an exceptional start, carding seven pars and two birdies on the front nine to turn in a blemish-free scorecard. He maintained his composure on the back nine with steady pars from holes 10 through 16, before adding a birdie on the 17th, the same hole where he made his ace the day prior. The Queenslander cruised to a convincing victory, securing his first Junior Masters title, along with a place in the Bonville Champions Trophy. A hole-in-one, a bogey-free round, and a breakthrough win capped off a remarkable performance.

The Boys 13 Years division was decided in a playoff after overnight leader Cooper Holman (Yarrawonga-Mulwala) and Queensland’s Benjamin Dong (RACV Royal Pines) finished tied at three-over par. After Holman lost his ball off the tee on the opening playoff hole, Dong seized the opportunity to claim victory in his first-ever JNJG event.

Consistency and patience proved key for Indooroopilly’s Oliver Duffy, who posted rounds of 72 and 73 to finish at one-over par. His efforts secured a three-shot victory in his age division, as well as an impressive outright second-place finish behind Singh, marking a standout weekend for the Queenslander.

Emerald Lakes’ Saskia Knevitt etched her name into the history books, becoming one of the few players to win the same Junior Masters event in consecutive years. Her back-to-back triumph also secured her a return to the Bonville Champions Trophy. However, the victory was far from straightforward. Knevitt was pushed throughout the final round in a tight contest with her younger sister Sara and Burleigh’s Emily Wei. Wei mounted a late charge with two birdies to apply pressure, but Knevitt responded in style, producing a clutch birdie on the final hole to seal the win at Ocean Shores.

Emily Wei capped off an excellent tournament with an outright second-place finish and an age group victory. While she narrowly missed the overall title, her performance was a strong indication of her potential, with a bright future ahead.

Roseville’s Alexandra Thorne claimed her first age group title at Ocean Shores, carding rounds of 84 and 83 to secure a seven-shot victory over Lakeside Camden’s Eden Sharma. It marks a significant milestone for Thorne, and potentially the first of many wins to come.
