Highlands golfer Darren Payne has scored a two shot win over Kiama duo, Col Kenning and Ethan Harvey at the Illawarra Regional Championships held over the weekend..
Not only did Payne win the Illawarra title but in a rare double, he also took the 2022 Illawarra Region Seniors title after firing a handy 71 around his home course today.
Port Kembla’s James McRorie won the nett with a 71 and Ethan Harvey coming in second with 74 nett on a countback from Nathan Whiteman, Michael David and local Josh Heyhorn.
The A Grade Club Champion of Champions was won by Ethan Harvey (Kiama) with 73, one stroke in front of Tom Holz with a 74 off the stick.

Clive Timmins won the B Grade Champion of Champions with a score of 89, three strokes in front of Worrigee’s Lloyd Pigram who shot a 92 and won on a countback from a Highlands local, Domenico D’Alessandro.

The C Grade Club Champion of Champions was won by Port Kembla’s Ryan Brownlow with a round of 87, three strokes in front of local Highlands member, Steve Sartori with a 90.
Darren Payne won the Senior Champion of Champions with his 71 with Col Kenning two shots behind for second place.
