Cold rain, strong winds and nail-biting finishes decided the pennant finals on Sunday, with three clubs lifting flags after contests that went down to the final putt.

At Muirfield Golf Club, Oatlands Golf Club won the 2026 Women’s Sunday Handicap Pennant Final, defeating Northbridge Golf Club 3.5 to 2.5. After finishing runners-up last year, Northbridge arrived determined to go one better against an Oatlands side that had lost just one round all season. The contest was finely balanced throughout, and it came down to the number one pairs on the 18th hole. Their match was halved, sealing a memorable win for Oatlands in testing conditions.

At Antil Park, conditions closely resembled the east coast of Scotland, where the game was born, as Moore Park Golf Club and North Turramurra claimed victory in the Warren & Gibson final.

Moore Park’s win over Lakeside Camden secured the Warren Trophy and was decided on the 19th hole. Lakeside looked to be in the box seat after playing the hole strategically, giving themselves a genuine chance to take the match. But Moore Park holed out from long range, and Lakeside, facing a tough putt under enormous pressure, missed. The result capped a match that had been tight all day. Moore Park paid tribute to Cabramatta, who hosted them during the regular season rounds, and vowed to defend their pennant flag in 2027.

North Turramurra set the tone with early points against a valiant Gordon side, who took many matches deep into the round but ultimately fell just short. The win was sealed with a 12-foot putt that hung on the lip for a few agonising seconds, in the spirit of Tiger Woods’ famous chip-in, before dropping for par. It gave North Turramurra a 2&1 victory in the deciding match and the Gibson Trophy. North Turramurra’s manager and first-time captain were ecstatic, and thanked the club supporters who helped the team claim the flag.
