Tipperary Golf Club in Young has taken a significant step forward in accessibility, completing the installation of a new disabled toilet block with support from the NSW Golf Foundation.

The project came together through a combination of resourcefulness and community goodwill. Club representative Gary Cummins began investigating options for a disabled toilet facility before a local plumber suggested exploring prefabricated units.

After researching the market, Gary made contact with Excavation Equipment in Shepparton, Victoria, whose team made the procurement process straightforward from start to finish. Club member Michael from DML Carriers then arranged to pick up and deliver the unit to the course, keeping costs down and ensuring the project stayed on track.

The result is a permanent, accessible facility that has meaningfully improved the experience for members and visitors at the Young club.

Gary Cummins said the support from Golf NSW had been instrumental in making the project a reality.

“I would really like to thank Golf NSW for the grant that helped make this project come to life,” he said.

“This has been a great improvement for our club.”

The project is a reminder of what smaller regional clubs can achieve when they combine grant funding with local knowledge and the goodwill of their own membership. For Tipperary Golf Club, it is a practical upgrade that will be felt for years to come.
