The Women’s NSW Medal Competition, one of the largest participation events for female golfers in the state, has concluded for 2025, crowning Muirfield’s Jenny Scholz as the State Final champion at Stonecutters Ridge Golf Club.

Held across three stages and three divisions, the Medal Competition begins at club level from January to September. Players record their lowest net aggregate across three of six rounds, with club winners progressing to District and Metropolitan playoffs. From there, the top performers in each division qualify for the prestigious Women’s State Final.

This year’s competition saw exceptional engagement, with 6,391 women from 188 golf clubs taking part. Of those, the leading 54 golfers earned their place in the State Final at Stonecutters Ridge.

Overall and Division 3 winner Jenny Scholz.

Scholz delivered a brilliant net 68, securing both the Division 3 (Bronze Medal) victory and the Overall State Final Championship on a countback.

“I really enjoyed today. Thank you to Golf NSW and Stonecutters Ridge for an amazing event,” she said after the win.

Oberon’s Jill O’Grady finished runner-up in Division 3, also with a 68 net, while Rosemary Jones of Oatlands claimed third with a 72 net.

Division 1 winner Kerran Leetham.

In Division 1, the Gold Medal went to Deniliquin’s Kerran Leetham, who carded a steady 71 net and was the only golfer in her division to play to their handicap.

Margaret Neeson from Bonnie Doon was second with a 72 net, followed by Tenterfield’s Margaret Spokes on 76 net.

Division 2 winner Lisa Zalitis.

The Silver Medal in Division 2 was claimed by Lisa Zalitis from Avalon, who produced an impressive 69 net.

Lisa finished ahead of Mullumbimby’s Michelle Stenner, who posted a 71 net to secure second on a countback, while Katie Graham of Oberon rounded out the top three.

Zalitis described the win as leaving her “very excited and speechless.”
