The Hay Bowling & Golf Club has secured a valuable grant from the NSW Golf Foundation to replace their aging fairway impact sprinklers across the historic 18-hole sandgreen course.
The club has been able to purchase 80 new impact sprinklers to replace the old system that had reached the end of its useful life. The previous fairway sprinklers were a mix of brass and plastic impact units, with the majority over ten years old. The new sprinklers are now providing greater coverage and working more efficiently across the course, while also significantly reducing maintenance time for the groundskeeper who was spending considerable hours repairing the inefficient equipment

Located approximately 725 kilometres west of Sydney, the upgrade represents a significant improvement for the club which has been an important sporting and community hub in the region since 1903.
“This upgrade is essential for maintaining our course quality and sustainability,” Club President Robert Young said.
“We’re grateful to the NSW Golf Foundation for their support of regional golf facilities like ours.”
The NSW Golf Foundation grant was supplemented by additional contributions of $500 each from the Hay Bowling & Golf Club and the Golf Committee, demonstrating the club’s commitment to maintaining quality facilities for its membership of 69 men, women and juniors.
The Hay Golf Club, which amalgamated with the Bowling Club in 1998 to ensure the sustainability of both organizations, is widely recognised for its sandgreen course. The club has proudly hosted the NSW Sandgreen Championships multiple times throughout its long history.
