Nearly 300 students at Albury’s Trinity Anglican College swapped their textbooks for tee shots at the school’s third annual Lunch Time Launch It.
The event, designed to ignite a passion for golf among students, offered a unique opportunity to swing, aim, and score.
Given three chances to hit a golf ball into a net, students and teachers alike saw their swings tracked by the high-tech Flightscope Mevo+ system, delivering real-time shot-performance data.
The program had an enthusiastic response from the young golfers.
“I loved it because I got to show off my skills and hit some absolute bombs” exclaimed Sloan Mullholland, one of the eager participants.
Henry Pearson, another student, couldn’t contain his excitement, saying, “It was really fun having golf coming to school as it doesn’t really happen often, and even better getting bragging rights for beating my classmates”
Jacob Cincurak, the Senior School Assistant for Sport & Cocurricular at Trinity, emphasized the value of the event.
“Lunch Time Launch is a fantastic way for students to showcase their talents and enjoy a bit of friendly competition. Many of these kids might not have had the chance to experience golf otherwise. This event makes the sport accessible without the need to pay or travel to a course—taking away the intimidation factor,” he noted.

Kade Stevens, the Junior School Sport Coordinator, shared the program’s growing popularity.
“It’s a hit because it’s something different from the usual sports we train for. A golf gala day would be fantastic, and I know we’d back it. With a great local course at Thurgoona and role models like Cam Smith inspiring the next generation, the interest in golf is only growing.”
Given the overwhelming success, the school is already planning to bring Lunch Time Launch It back for another round next year.
