Cascio, Mudadana selected for Toyota Junior Golf World Cup

Blues stars Sam Cascio and Kayun Mudadana have been selected to represent the country at this year’s Toyota Junior Golf World Cup in Japan.

First held in 1992, the tournament has featured many future stars, including Cameron Smith, Rose Zhang, Scottie Scheffler and Jon Rahm.

Although Australia has only one win in the championship – the 2012 Boy’s event – they have often featured on the podium.

Sixteen-year-old Cascio, of the Australian Golf Club, claimed the biggest title of his young goilfing career at last months Australian Junior Amateur Championship in Perth.

Runner-up to Cascio at the Junior, Kayun Mudadana of NSW Golf Club has also been picked on the team, with Queenslander Chase Oberle rounding out the boys team.

2023 NSW Amateur Champion Shyla Singh headlines the girl’s team. Joining Singh is fellow Queenslander Sarah Hammett and Victoria’s Amelia Harris.

The tournament will be held from June 18-21 at Chukyo Golf Club in Japan and is played over 72-holes of individual stroke play.
