Doug Cullam of Monash has been declared the Men’s Golf NSW Senior Order of Merit Champion following the completion of the final event of the year at Cromer Golf Club while Shelly Beach’s Kim Burke has claimed the Women’s Title for 2022.
Cullam was thrilled to claim victory in what had been a long year, and one where he had achieved several firsts.
“It’s been a great year and I’ve been able to tick off a few of my goals I wanted to achieve. Firstly winning the SOOM and representing Australia in the Trans Tasman, which we won.”
“I’m very proud and honoured to have won the SOOM,” Cullam added.
Runner-up David McLelland was delighted with his finish, paying credit to the wonderful performance of Nullam to claim the SOOM crown for 2022.
“It got very close towards the end, but hats off to Doug who had a great season and Peter who lead for a long way until he got run down by Doug,” McLelland said.
Peter Beard, who finish third overall also claimed the over-65’s division, an impressive effort considering he played in 32 events on his way to claim the crown.
“its been a long year” Beard grinned. ” I played a few events and it showed towards the end of the season… But I am ecstatic to have won the Over 65’s. I’ve enjoyed getting back to playing again and being amongst a great bunch of senior golfers.”
