The 2022 NSW Open Regional Amateur Qualifying Series is making a welcome return to the tournament calendar after COVID forced the cancellation of most of the schedule last year.
Now in its ninth year, the four-tournament series is an ideal opportunity for amateur golfers from across the country to secure their place in next year’s NSW Open at Concord Golf Club..
The Australian Golf Club’s Thomas Heaton made the most of the only qualifier able to be played last year, the Cessnock Cup, winning his way into the field at this year’s Championship.
In addition to the coveted invitations to the NSW Open, players aged over 50 also have an opportunity to qualify for the Lincoln Place NSW Men’s Senior Open, with the top two scores from qualifying competitors earning a spot to compete against the legends of Australian professional golf at Thurgoona Country Club Resort.

“The Regional Qualifying Series is a great chance for an amateur, regardless of where they are based, to lock away their place in next year’s NSW Open.
“After being unable to play all but one of the tournaments last year due to COVID, it’s great to see them back on this year’s calendar.
The NSW Open Golf Championship is proudly supported by the NSW Government and Destination NSW and will be a key part of the 2022 Australian Summer of Golf.
