Four fresh faces will join the Golf NSW High-Performance Program for 2021.
Entering the Program are Jeffrey Guan of The Australian GC, Muswellbrook’s Josh Fuller (The Vintage GC), Jye Halls (Mollymook/ NSW GCs). Kelsey Bennett (Mollymook/St. Michael’s GCs) will re-enter the program after a 12-month break.
Guan needs little introduction to many in the sport. Runner-up at the recent Australian Amateur, the 16-year-old added the Australian Junior title to his name with victory at Gold Creek CC only three weeks ago.
Fuller, who plays at The Vintage in the Hunter Valley, impressed many during the NSW Amateur Championship back in January before claiming the world-ranked Concord Cup and Tasmanian Open Championships in March.
Halls, at just 16, will become one of the youngest members in the squad after a string of impressive performances, including victory in the 2020 Junior Sixes and a creditable fourth place at the Australian Junior.
Bennett re-enters the program with a renewed passion for the sport and several impressive results to her name this year, including a victory in the 2021 Women’s Tasmanian Open.
Golf NSW High-Performance Manager Khan Pullen was thrilled to announce the new members of the squad.
“All of the athletes have been performing well at the State and National levels, and I am looking forward to working with them and their support teams,” Mr Pullen said.
With access to the resources available through the Golf NSW HP Program, I am confident they will continue to develop the skills required to take their game to the next level.”
