The Murray District Golf Association Handicap pennant competition is underway, and for the first time in quite a while, four local juniors are competing.
Fergus Corchane, Toby Hoskins, Oliver Nelson and Beau Davis have been playing for their home clubs and revelling in the experience.
Eleven teams take part in the competition, including Culcairn, Holbrook, Jindera and Thurgoona, the MDGA All-Stars (which is any golfer from any MDGA club), are also part of the action.

The eager youngsters got their first taste of the competition at Holbrook early this month, and despite mixed results enjoyed the chance to play match play.
“All the golfers welcomed them,” Damian Shanahan, Murrray District Vice-Captain said.
“These juniors have grown a lot by playing against adults, and they have held their heads high, it’s been a pleasure watching them.”
With several games now under their belts, Shanahan said expects them to go further in the sport.
Playing on different types of putting surfaces, sand, grass and synthetic, is a learning curve for them, but they have taken it their stride.
