Defending Champion Chris Campbell will be the man to beat when the 2020 Srixon NSW Mid Amateur Gets underway at Forster/Tuncurry Golf Club this Weekend.
Campbell is one of a capacity field of 130 men and 37 women taking part in 54 hole championship which was rescheduled from early this year due to COVID-19.
Campbell’s win last year was a welcome return to his amateur roots after an accomplished professional career which included a win on the lucrative Japanese Tour and an appearance in the 2005 British Open at the home of Golf, St Andrews.

2019 Runner Up Mark Hale from Mudgee will be looking to add a first Mid-Amateur Crown to his resume, particularly after his close call to Campbell in this event last year at Shoalhaven Heads.
With two-time champion Mark Boulton (VIC) unable to play due to border closures, several other talents will be looking to come to the fore.
Woolgoolga’s Logan Toms, who won the title in 2016, will be out to add a second title to his name. Camden Lakeside’s Jason Webb, who qualified for the 2018 NSW Open Via a regional Qualifying win, will also be out for victory in the over – 30’s restricted field.
Fifth Title?
In the Women’s section, Moore Park’s Gemma Dooley will be looking to add an impressive fifth women’s Mid-Amateur Crown to her name. Despite 2019 Champion Adele Douglas being unable to defend due to injury, the competition will be no less intense, with several women capable of taking the title.
Moruya’s Colette Blacklock, who took the title in a dramatic playoff at Bathurst Golf Club in 2018 is playing, so too Newcastle’s Jenny Thompson.
