Michael Medway Takes Chair of Golf NSW

Michael Medway, Chairman of Golf NSW

Mr Michael Medway has been elected Chair of Golf NSW. He replaces Mr Peter Mitchell, who will complete his term on the board at the end of 2020.

Mr Medway has been a Board Member of Golf NSW since 2017, serving on several committees including Finance, Governance and the Golf Committee, which he has chaired since 2019. During this time, he has also been active in ensuring the financial position of the organisation remained strong.

Mr Medway is also an enthusiastic supporter of many of the organisation’s primary roles including tournaments, game development, and club support. He has acted as honorary starter at the Men’s and Women’s NSW Opens and the Australian Ladies Classic- Bonville and been instrumental in driving Golf NSW’s digital presence.

A Program Manager and expert on software solutions, Mr Medway holds a Bachelor of Business & Bachelor of Laws and is a Chartered Company Secretary. He is currently completing an executive MBA at the Sydney Business School.

A member of Brighton Lakes Golf Club in south-western Sydney, Mr Medway has been involved in the sport since the age of five.

Mr Medway thanked the outgoing Chair for his contribution to the organisation and his commitment to the sport’s development across regional New South Wales.

“Golf NSW is grateful for the contribution made by Mr Mitchell as a Board Member and Chair, in particular his commitment to regional golf across the State.

“As Chair, I aim to continue this work and ensure the surge in interest in golf during the Covid-19 crisis converts into increased participation as well as membership for affiliated golf clubs throughout NSW,” he said.
