Women’s Stroke a Walk in the park for Steph

Stephanie Kyriacou

It was more like a procession than a competition for Stephanie Kyriacou as she claimed the women’s strokeplay crown today.

After taking full advantage of her home course knowledge yesterday, Kyriacou carded a second round 65 at The Coast for a two round total of 13 under par – a whopping eight shots in front of the British Amateur Champion, Emily Toy.

In third place, another two shots back at three-under was Kyriacou’s St. Michael’s teammate Kelsey Bennett.

The trio were the only players under par for the 36 holes strokeplay crown, with the top 16 qualifiers for the matchplay falling at six-over-par.

An impressive ten New South Wales women qualified for the Matchplay rounds. The full field of Matchplay qualifiers are:

Stephanie Kyriacou, Emily Toy, Kelsey Bennett, Rhianna-Maree Lewis, Grace Kim, Annika Rathbone, Kono Matsumoto, Sarah Wilson, June Song, Angelina Gong, Yerin Kim, Sophie Yip, Ann Jang, Doey Choi, Claire Shin, and Alexandra Hilliard.
