We are all set for a fantastic final round in the 2019 Lincoln Place NSW Senior Open here at Thurgoona Country Club.
Queensland’s Brad Burns is in the box seat to lift the championship trophy after his sensational seven-under effort in yesterday’s gale force winds.
It was a masterclass from Burns who not only mastered the severe conditions but in the process grabbed himself a lead that will be tough for the chasing pack to overcome.
Victorians Lucien Tinkler (six under) and John Wade (five under) are the next best, and will be playing alongside Burns in the final group of the day. The trio will tee off at 10.40am.
There will be plenty of interest in the next to last group to go as well. The ‘three Pete’ grouping of Peter Lonard, Peter Fowler and Peter O’Malley will be sure to draw a large following.
As for the weather, today is looking like a far better proposition to yesterday, with the temperature expected to be a quite mild 18 degrees maximum. The wind which played havoc yesterday will be much lighter, with gusts only getting to 21 km/h. All in all a perfect day to walk the course and watch the legends.
