Eighth seed The Coast Golf Club have held on to win the TL Warren trophy in a tight match against near neighbours Bondi two matches to one at Cumberland Country Club.

It is the first time since 2011 the eastern suburbs outfit have taken the TL Warren, crown.

The contest was a tight affair with Bondi looking to have the edge after nine holes.

The Coast’s number one match got a point early, running away from their p=opponents and recording a 3 /2 win. The Bondi team soon bounced back however, with a clutch win on the 17th hole in the number three match to seal a point to square the ledger.

However the real drama was saved to theist. With both teams surrounding the 18th green, it came down the the middle match, and with the score tied on the 19th tee the contest was anyone’s.

Warren Carr and Karl Hartmann got the job done for the Coast, with a vital win on the last to secure the 2019 pennant.

Camden were too strong in the W Gibson trophy, upsetting the favourites for the title, Beverly Park, two matches to one.

Beverly Park were undefeated all year, however they had no answer for a red-hot Camden outfit in the final.

Early in the contest it looked like going the way of the St George based club with a 3 /2 win in the number three match to Michael Arrow and David Taylor.

Camden had other ideas, and the team of Michael Vance and Andrew Roberts made it a point apiece with a sound 5/4 win over Peter Fowler and Frank Hardman.

at the end, it was Nathan Rego and Brian Berrell who ensured the W Gibson title was heading to Studley Park with a 3/2 win over George Gauci and Anthony Hayes.
