75 Men’s and 15 Women’s teams will battle it out for club glory when the 2020 Metropolitan Major Pennant Competiton gets underway early next year.
With round one beginning on February 9th, all eyes will be on New South Wales Golf Club as they attempt to make it a three-peat of Division One titles.
The task won’t be an easy one, with the La Perouse unit having to face 2017 Division One Champions, Australian Golf Club, a talented Pymble unit full of rising talent, and the recently promoted Liverpool Golf Club who will be out to claim their club’s first top-flight Pennant since 2005 just to progress from their group.

Last year’s Division One runners-up, Avondale, have no easy task in their pool either. The North Shore outfit have drawn 2015 Champions St. Michael’s, 2014 Champions Mona Vale and Bankstown.
The Women’s draw should provide some interesting clashes also, with Defending Champions Concord drawn in the same pool as The Australian, Cronulla and New South Wales.
Runners-up in Women’s Division One, St. Michael’s, will face a testing challenge away from home against their neighbours, Bonnie Doon on the opening weekend.
With two clubs from each pool progressing to the semi-finals, the real interest will be in the chance of an upset to any of the top four from hopefuls like Stonecutters Ridge,The Lakes or New South Wales during the home-and-away matches.
