Over 120 ladies from regional NSW tee it up today for the first round of the Women’s Country Meeting at Stonecutters Ridge Golf Club.
The format is stroke play over 36-holes (stroke play for divisions 1 & 2 and stableford for division 3), 18-holes on day one, and 18-holes on day two, a free day on day three, followed by 18-holes foursomes on day four.
DIVISIONS
Division One – GA Handicap – 0 to 15.8
Division Two – GA Handicap – 15.9 to 21.9
Division Three – GA Handicap – 22.0 to 45
Today there are two shotgun starts, one at 7.30am and again at 12.30pm.
Duntryleague’s Susan Fenwick is setting the pace with an 87 after round one of the Women’s Country Meeting. Fenwick is one shot head of Port Sorell’s Sharon Crowden who is also leading the nett with a 76. Two shots behind on 78 is Nelson Bay’s Robyn Rocher and Fran Bessant of Horizons.
In division two, Diana Johnson of Nelson Bay is leading the nett with a 77 and Maitland’s Christine Whitchurch had a 78 nett.
The stableford leader for division three is Lesley Buxton of Nambucca Heads with 34 points and on 32 points is Gosford’s Kaylene Baillie and Duntryleague’s Margo Snare.
Tomorrow the ladies are teeing it up at Pennant Hills Golf Club for the final round of the 36-hole event. There are two shotgun starts, one at 7.30am and again at 12.30pm.
