Organisers couldn’t have hoped for more at the recent Port Stephens Classic, with almost 100 golfers getting to test their games over three days on three of the region’s finest courses.

Designed to give golfers living outside of the Port Stephens a taste of the region, the Classic once known as the Spring Cup, is becoming a must-play for visitors from across Australia

Pacific Dunes hosted round one on Tuesday 13 August, Horizons on Wednesday, with the final round and presentation lunch held at Nelson Bay on the last day.

Winners of the Individual Stableford competitions were awarded their prizes following each event, while the four-Ball Best Ball winners were recognised on the final day.

Kurt Linde, General Manager of Pacific Dunes was thrilled with the tournament.

“It was great to see such a fantastic response to this event. The staff at all the facilities were excited to welcome our visitors to a great week of golf.

“Port Stephens is a true golfing destination that I encourage everyone to visit and play,” he said.

Players from 40 clubs competed this year, and for those who did attend, there was plenty on offer to keep one busy with the Love Seafood event still in full swing.

“Next year we will look set to raise the bar to make it another exciting event.

“I’m sure all the players walked away with new friendships, the love of the game and be ready to return in 2020,” Mr Linde added.
