Rising star Camilla Kim has added another prestigious title to her growing list of achievements, capturing the 2025 South Australian Amateur Championship in a dramatic 21-hole final at The Vines Golf Club of Reynella.

Representing The Australian Golf Club, Kim edged out The National’s Fuyu Yang in a gripping women’s final.

The victory marks her first South Australian Amateur title and comes just weeks before her 15th birthday, an early celebration for one of the state’s brightest young talents.

Already the reigning 2025 NSW Junior Champion and a proud member of the NSW Junior State Team for the past two years, Kim’s latest triumph further cements her status as a future force in Australian golf.

“It’s amazing to win a match play tournament,” Kim said after the win.

“I know how hard and difficult it is to win one, and it doesn’t really feel real to be a champion.”

Kim’s journey to the title was not without its challenges. After holding a 1-up lead heading into the 18th, a hooked tee shot into the penalty area forced the match into extra holes. But with the calming presence of close friend and SA Junior Amateur champion Alice Cho on the bag, Kim regrouped and held her nerve through three tense playoff holes.

“Alice was definitely trying to get me relaxed and talk about different stuff,” Kim shared.

“But when we had to concentrate, she was helping a lot, especially on those putts.”

In the men’s final, Western Australia’s Josiah Edwards claimed his first South Australian Amateur title with a two-hole victory over fellow West Aussie George Barclay, capping off a strong year that also included a win at the Port Phillip Open Amateur Championship.
