YEOVAL GOLF CLUB – IN THE “GREATEST LITTLE TOWN N THE WEST”
Yeoval Golf Club is located in a small rural town on the cross roads of Molong, Dubbo and Wellington. It is about a four hours drive from Sydney and a leisurely five-hour drive from Lake Macquarie and Newcastle.
The course is partly inside a showground with most holes bordering Sandy and Buckinbah Creeks. There are nine tiny black coarse sand greens with dry fairways and a few trees scattered around.
Volunteers maintain the golf course. It is a nice place to have a hit when passing through town.
Yeoval Golf Club is located in Yeoval, a town located in the Central West of New South Wales in Cabonne Shire. Part of the town lies over Buckinbah Creek in Wellington Shire (North Yeoval).
The “Greatest Little Town in the West” is famous for its association with Banjo Paterson, Australia’s most admired bush poet. It is well worth a visit to the iconic Banjo Paterson Museum – “More than a Poet”, the only museum in Australia dedicated to the life and times of ” Banjo” Paterson. He was a great horseman; he also played cricket and golf.
Stroll around the Banjo Paterson Bush Park on Forbes Street and enjoy a picnic under the “Big Hat” sculpture.
