Wilcannia Golf Club – “Middle of nowhere, centre of everywhere!”
Wilcannia Golf Club’s is a nine-hole golf course located about 948 km north west of Sydney, between Broken Hill and Cobar in Outback NSW.
The region’s claim to fame is that it is located on the site of the first brewery built by Edmund Resch in Australia. Many heritage listed sandstone buildings line the streets showcasing its long history and historic thriving river port on the Darling River.
The Golf Club was inactive for a number of years. With funding support from the NSW Government and Golf NSW, the course has reemerged. Due to floods and fairways out of action, the official launch scheduled for November 2022 was postponed until 2023.
