Werris Creek Golf Club is a 9-hole golf course about 20 kilometres North East of Quirindi in the Liverpool Plains Shire. It is about 380km from Sydney and thirty-five minute drive from Tamworth.
Its natural asset, Werris Creek, runs through the course on the way to town. It has nine tiny black oiled scrapes with no bunkers.
The club offers hall for hire, has a fully licensed bar, gaming area, BBQ area and swing set for kids. Club trading hours are Wednesday 4pm-7pm, Friday 4pm-late, Sunday 10:30am-6pm. A 9-hole round of golf is $5.00 (honesty box).
Werris Creek Golf Club hosts a weekly summer competition that runs for twelve weeks. Players can play any time throughout the week and submit their weekly score towards the overall team score. The intention is around the social aspect of golf and open to all playing and social members. Results are posted regularly on its Facebook page. Werris Creek is Australia’s first and last Railway town and home to the multi-award winning Australian Railway Monument & Rail Journeys Museum. The active railway station is Australia’s third largest, following Sydney Central and Newcastle.
