Wauchope Country Club is an 18-hole championship course 25km west of Port Macquarie on the NSW Lower North Coast.
An undulating par 71 with tall trees lining many of the fairways. Wauchope isn’t a long course by any means. Accuracy over distance is the key to scoring well around here.
The course is well bunkered, and there are several strategically-placed water hazards waiting for the errant shot.
The greens are some of the best around. Although not massive, they are well proportioned. Take the advice of a local if offered when reading them. picking the ideal line is an art.
Wauchope Country Club has several solid holes. The pick of the crop would include:
- The 11th: a mid length par five with a blind second shot and water lurking ready to catch an errant approach.
- The 17th, with hazards dotting the right hand side of the fairway, best bet is to favour the left hand side of the fairway.
The 18th is a cracking finishing hole for a par three. at only 142 metres, it isn’t long, but with water, sand and a couple of tall gums to deal with.

Players keen for a post round refreshment won’t be disappointed either.
