Wattle Flat is located about 34kms north of Bathurst. It was originally a farming area and became a thriving gold town in mid 1800’s. It is now a beautiful country village with many remnants of its mining history scattered across the region.
When not playing a round at Wattle Flat Golf Club why not wander around the old gold mining village. There are collections of historic buildings and 310 hectare Heritage Lands.
For nature lovers, the Northern section of the Heritage Lands ‘contain the only evidence of the ‘Argyle Apple’ (eucalyptus cinera) in the Central West. A relatively easy 3 hour walk on the ‘Buuree Walking Trail’ takes you to the hill top with spectacular views of Wattle Flat and Sofala.
