Waratah Golf Club is the oldest golf club in the Newcastle and Lake Macquarie region. The 18 hole par 71 course measures 5905 metres from the blue markers.
The course is relatively flat, however, it makes for an easy and enjoyable walk. The design challenges golfers of all levels.
Coupled with a friendly atmosphere both on and off the course Waratah Golf Club makes for a great place to make new friends and renew acquaintances with old ones.
The club is about a twenty-minute drive south of Newcastle and ten minutes off the M1 and Hunger Expressway. It is next to the scenic Cockle Creek on the north-western shores of Lake Macquarie. It is less than 90 minutes drive north from Sydney.
Waratah Golf Club has been a leading light for golf in the region as well as NSW and Australia. Its history is long and the club is very proud of its traditions. The club has been around for over 100 years. It was formed in 1901 through an affiliation with a tennis club to become Newcastle’s first golf club.
The club’s goal is to continue to provide the best possible golf course, the best possible amenities, and the best possible golfing experience for all.
The course is open to members and visitors seven days a week, except Christmas Day. Please check tee times at the Pro Shop.
The staff and members of Waratah Golf Club hope you enjoy the course as a place for a great game of golf.
