One of the oldest golf courses in NSW, Richmond Golf Club has had time to mature into a lush, very challenging course. The 18 hole layout measures 5510 metres and has a par of 70.
The club takes pride in its long history which dates back from October 1897 when golf was first played on the Hawkesbury Agricultural College paddocks. Marcia Yates, President of the Associate Members in 1986 compiled a ‘Brief History of Richmond Golf Club.’
A meeting was held at the School of Arts on Wednesday, 15 March 1899 at 4:00pm to form a golf club, establishing rules, fees, officers, property, etc. Richmond is believed to be the oldest golf club on its original site in Australia.
