Nelson Bay Golf Club is located in the beautiful blue water wonderland of Port Stephens, just 40 minutes north of Newcastle and 2.5hrs north of Sydney.
Nelson Bay boasts an impressive 27 hole golf course on 175 acres of challenging tree lined fairways.
It is an idyllic setting and home to kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, native birds and the occasional goanna.
The course is maintained to an extremely high standard showcasing its beauty and the challenging layout.
Variable tee positions and undulating holes mean Nelson Bay is a test for everyone from the strongest of “grip it & rippers” to those keen on simply a social game.
The club’s most picturesque hole, the 18th, is surrounded by blooming Christmas bush in the summer months.
Furthermore, the serene lakes and deceiving bunkers make the 13th and 14th holes pretty to watch but can be a punishment if not navigated well.
If there is a hole that could make anyone’s day with a hole in one it would be the 20th.
It’s a hold your breath tee shot straight down a tree lined hill to a green at the base of it. While the 22nd hole is particularly challenging at 535m.
With no traffic noise, the only distractions to your day will be the occasional bird call or native audience.
