Nelson Bay Golf Club boasts an impressive 27-hole golf course on 175 acres of challenging tree-lined fairways. The club is located in the blue-water wonderland of Port Stephens. It is just 2.5 hours north of Sydney and 40 minutes north of Newcastle.
The course, maintained to an extremely high standard, showcases its beauty and challenging layout. Its variable tee positions and undulating holes means the course is a test for everyone from the strongest of “grip it & rippers” to those keen on simply a social game.
The blooming Christmas bush surrounds the club’s most picturesque hole, the 18th, in the summer months. Furthermore, the serene lakes and deceiving bunkers make the 13th and 14th holes pretty to watch; but it can be a punishment if not navigated well.
If there is a hole that could make anyone’s day with a hole-in-one it would be the 20th. It is a ‘hold your breath’ tee shot straight down a tree-lined hill to a green at the base of it.
The 22nd hole is particularly challenging at 535m.
Nelson Bay Golf Club is an idyllic setting and home to kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, native birds, and the occasional goanna.
With no traffic noise, the only distractions to your day will be the occasional bird call or native audience.
