Empower Golf was born after founder James Gribble’s life changed in an instant. A spinal cord injury in 2008 left him a quadriplegic, but it never took away his love for golf or his determination to turn adversity into opportunity. Today, Empower Golf supports Australians of all abilities with adaptive clinics, specialised equipment and a welcoming community. Today, Empower Golf supports Australians of all abilities with adaptive clinics, private coaching with all abilities accredited PGA professionals, specialised equipment and a welcoming community.  

In the past decade Empower Golf has transformed the landscape of disability golf in Australia making it accessible to over 50,000 Australians and facilitated up to 500 clinics annually.  The vast majority of our programs are delivered by accredited golf professionals at established inclusive golf facilities, Empower Hubs, supported by Golf Australia and the PGA of Australia. 

Empower Golf truly makes golf accessible with incredible adaptive equipment. The Paramotion is an all-terrain wheelchair that lifts the user into a standing position, allowing for a more natural golf swing. Designed for the course, it has low pressure tyres and a wide stance, giving it access to almost every part of the golf course. That includes greens, practice areas and specially designed bunkers. The Paramotion is often used by people with high-level spinal cord injuries, but it’s also great for anyone with mobility or stability challenges.
