Darling River Golf Club is a sand greens golf course located in Bourke; a historic town is located on the banks of the Darling River. When you come to Bourke, you come to the heart of Outback Australia, on the edge of the desert. Henry Lawson said, “If you know Bourke, then you know Australia.”
The drive to Bourke is about a nine and a half hours from Sydney (800km), and about four hours from Dubbo. The town is located north-west of New South Wales.
A few nights stay there will help you discover the historic town. Visit the Back O’Bourke Exhibition Centre, cruise the Darling Rive ron the PV Jandra, explore the region with the Mud Map Tours. Discover the Aboriginal rock art at Gundabooka National Park, and extraordinary wildlife and species of birds.
Darling River Golf CLub hosts a variety of competition days to support Charities, the Bourke Pro Am, 9 hole and 18 hole weekend golf. They also host a free “Come and Try Day” for those wanting to experience golf for the first time.
The Darling River golfers enjoy their little ‘Clubhouse,’ a nice way to spend their Fridays.
