Club Bega

Club Bega on the NSW Far South Coast is a picturesque country course just a few minutes drive from the town renowned for its famous cheese.

Surrounded by dairy paddocks and towering gum trees, the 5813 metre par 72 layout is well maintained and ideal for a leisurely game.

With a climate ideal for agriculture, Club Bega boasts excellent green surfaces and surrounds. Lightly bunkered, if you can scramble well, there are no excuses.

The layout at Bega is reasonably uncomplicated. The front nine is a series of straight holes with a couple of reachable par fives. A creek meanders across the front of a couple of greens, making some approach shots a bit of a test.

The back nine is more challenging. Featuring a couple of handy dog-legs and some undulating fairways, the highlight is without doubt the par five 14th. Golfers need to contend with a fairway sloping right off the tee before the fairway does a hard turn right. The approach is over a large gully to a bunkerless green.

The course’s strength however, is the quality of the par threes. Four of the five do require a mid to long iron.
