Bankstown Golf Club is a challenging par 71, 6068 metre layout in Sydney’s inner-west.
Easily reachable from right across the metropolitan area, Bankstown is a challenge for players of all levels.
A classic parkland layout, a few holes meander along the banks of the Georges River. Others drift through groves of native bushland.
The 13th is the Bankstown Golf Club’s postcard hole. A tricky par three, needing a mid to long iron tee shot from the tee, a hazard runs alongside the right bunker. A long sloping green slopes towards the right which runs towards the hazard. Making par is a good score.
Bankstown Golf Club has competitions open to visitors mid-week.
In addition to the club’s popular Monday Medley, there is a Pro Comp every Tuesday.
The Club’s Black Championship layout in particular is tough; Its course record 69 has only been carded a handful of times. For those up to it, the club runs a Wicked Wednesday Black Tee Challenge on the third Wednesday of the month.
For golfers after something a little more forgiving, there are a variety of tees available depending on the competition of the day.
The well-appointed clubhouse at Bankstown offers tasteful, air-conditioned appointments to compliment the golf course . With its westerly aspect golfers can enjoy views over the course and practice putting green.
